Gerald E. Finken
CEO & Pharmacist
It’s Our Mission to use the practice of pharmacy to make clinical trials a viable healthcare option for Everyone, Everywhere. With its new way of thinking, we can address the long-standing time, cost, and quality issues that have afflicted the industry for over 40 years.
Gerald is a licensed pharmacist with almost 40 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. In 1997, he founded CSM, a clinical supplies packaging and labeling company, where he invented On-Demand packaging and labeling, Clinical Trial Research Pharmacist (CTRP®) services, and pioneered Direct-to-Patient services. In 2013, he founded Center Point Clinical Services and subsequently created the innovative Siteless CRO model. In 2020, Gerald launched RxE2 where he now serves as CEO. Gerald focuses on innovation, disruptive business strategies, and growth opportunities.
Tina joined RxE2 as vice president, pharmacy operations in 2020. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in pharmacy and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. She began her career at Clinical Supplies Management, Inc. (CSM) where she led the growth of Clinical Trials Research Pharmacist (CTRP®) services. She went on to serve as president of Center Point Clinical Services. During her career, she was also employed by the National Community Pharmacists Association, heading the Long-Term Care Division and working on strategic programs, and ProPharma Group, overseeing ICSR (individual case safety reports) processing and regulatory submissions for serious adverse events. Tina received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from North Dakota State University and her MBA from the University of Oregon. Her pharmacy practice experience includes community and outpatient pharmacy in addition to clinical research.
The concept of E2 Services took shape when RxE2 looked at the services provided by pharmacies and the relationship the pharmacists have with their patients through the lens of clinical research.
E2 Services are pharmacy-focused, decentralized, and convenient for people everywhere. More than 85% of the population has never participated in a clinical trial, yet almost everyone has been to a pharmacy. E2 Services expand the opportunity to participate in clinical trials to more people by bringing the trials to them.
By focusing on what benefits Everyone, Everywhere, E2 Services address the time, cost, and quality issues that have persisted in the pharmaceutical clinical research industry for the past 40 years.
RxE2 is a disruptive company that is willing to find new solutions for clinical research. We see the industry through the eyes of pharmacists and their patients, bridging the gap between clinical research and real-world medication practices. We are the first company to fully integrate the practice of pharmacy into clinical research. Our unique model provides a new method for companies looking to make a difference, especially for companies looking to perform virtual, siteless, or decentralized trials, and for those companies seeking to truly understand patient centricity.
The current practice of pharmacy is changing. Today’s pharmacies and pharmacists represent untapped resources. Pharmacies are ideally situated, as they are not only located throughout the US and the rest of the world, but they are also convenient to patients who will participate in clinical trials. Each of these pharmacies have pharmacists whose skills and expertise are often underused; skills and expertise which make the pharmacist the perfect healthcare professional to dispense clinical supplies and ensure medication adherence and compliance. More importantly, many clinical research stakeholders often overlook the relationships that pharmacists have with their patients. Those relationships, however, are the primary reason why pharmacists are, time and again, listed as one of the most trusted professionals in the US. RxE2 embraces those close relationships between pharmacists and patients, leveraging them to simultaneously improve recruitment and clinical trial outcomes.
E2 Services incorporate the practice of pharmacy and use pharmacies and pharmacists located in every corner of the US, the EU, and the world. RxE2 has created a network of pharmacists that are trained and certified as Clinical Trial Research Pharmacists (CTRPs) to provide timely and effective recruitment services for their patients. RxE2 has also created an innovative and cost-effective new system to get clinical supplies packaged, labeled, and shipped directly to those local patients. The success of decentralized trials hinges on quality. Whether it is data collection, understanding patient behaviors, addressing patient clinical supply and technology issues, or study outcomes, ensuring quality is paramount in any decentralized trial. RxE2 uses its CTRP services and propriety systems, which have been proven to improve patient care and medication outcomes, to ensure quality at every step.
